Who i am
Founder of Knights Nutrition | Canine Health and Nutrition Specialist (BCCSDip.HthNut)
I’m Michael Knight Alan Bennett, though most people simply know me as Mike — the name behind Knights Nutrition.
My journey into canine nutrition began over a decade ago, driven by curiosity, compassion, and a desire to understand what truly supports a dog’s long-term health. Along the way, I earned my qualification in Canine Health and Nutrition through the British College of Canine Studies (BCCSDip.HthNut), allowing me to work professionally with confidence and credibility.
While the certification opened the door, my real education came from years of independent research, hands-on experience, and collaboration with some of the most respected figures in the field. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to connect with globally recognised experts such as Dr Jean Dodds, Dr Ian Billinghurst, Dr Tom Lonsdale, Dr Conor Brady, Dr Nick Thompson, Dr Lise Hansen, Rodney Habib, Alison Daniel, Caroline Griffiths, Catherine Edwards, Junior Hudson, Emma Rutherford, Arunas Matacius, Eric Puro, and many others who continue to inspire my approach.
I believe that nutrition should never be overcomplicated or intimidating. My philosophy is built on balance over time, not perfection in every bowl. A healthy diet is one that offers variety, natural ingredients, and achievable consistency — not stress or unnecessary restrictions. Bone broth, fresh foods, and whole ingredients all play their part in creating lasting wellness.
In the early stages of my work, I founded the Worldwide Canine Welfare Community, which grew rapidly and connected dog owners across the globe. Later, I focused closer to home by creating Raw Feeders of Great Britain — a community dedicated to UK-based owners navigating raw feeding, sourcing, costs, and regulations. The group quickly became a trusted space for learning and sharing, and later expanded to include a “Beginners Guide” version designed to help new feeders grow in confidence.
At Knights Nutrition, my mission is simple:
To help dogs and cats thrive on fresh, species-appropriate diets — and to make that knowledge accessible, evidence-based, and free from unnecessary jargon or sales tactics.
There’s enough confusion in the pet food world already. My goal is to cut through the noise with honest, balanced, and practical guidance that supports real results — because good nutrition shouldn’t be complicated, and it certainly shouldn’t be commercialised at the expense of your pet’s wellbeing.
If you believe in giving your dogs the best chance at a long, healthy life through natural nutrition, you’re in the right place. #ArmourUp
